We all love Transformers here – why else would you be on this website? But one artistic / visual concept that seems to blend in well is the armor and culture of the Japanese Warriors – the Samurai.
It’s nothing new, there have been mixed Transformers Samurai images and artwork around for years – even with some of the official characters having their own Samurai themed designs spun into the universe.
Think of Drift, Transformers Animated Prowl, Bludgeon – the Samurai theme is quite strong.
I have here some unique and really cool Samurai themed Transformers artwork, as well as who created it and where to find them, below.

I saw some images on the internet, did some digging and found some really talented artists showcasing some killer Samurai Transformers creations.

Bumblebee – Samurai Mode
Check out the intricate details and stylings behind this movie-style Bumblebee with a Samurai helmet. This pic has modern spin with a traditional feel to it.
I also like the nice little Autobot symbol put straight onto the front of the helmet.

Shogun Prime
I’m loving this traditional , hand-painted look of Optimus Prime swinging his axe in a more Japanese Samurai fashion!
The image has made by Rae Sara who does a lot fo really cool artwork on her website. She features a lot of pop cultuyre in her work, not just Samurai and Transformers, and it’s well worth seeing the other art she does do in a variety of styles.

Tatakae Chou Samurai Seimeitai
This cool Transformers Samurai artwork was created by NinjaInk, LLC. It’s a more human-looking Samurai version of Optimus and Megatron but still has that cool aesthetic.
Recognize the weaponry? Very nice hat tip to the fanbase.

Transformers 5 Chinese Poster…
…oh yeah, I know – Samurai are JAPANESE. Look, these images share a similar quality although they aren’t samurai but they have that same ancient martial arts warrior feel to them.
These posters are the Kung Fu version of some of the characters.
The detail and look of these is just really cool. The artist goes by thenickname ‘DayBreak’.
He has some wicked work on Behance!

This picture really caught my attention!
This design is by Vincent Trinidad and is a Sumi-e inspired Optimus Prime with that simple yet striking combination of red and greyscale top make a really nifty looking Samurai Optimus.
The hand-painted look and mechanical planet taking place of the red sun is a nice touch that makes this a cool image for Transformers fan!
Megatron Ronin and Optimus Shogun!
Speaking of wicked shirt designs, check out these Samurai/warring Japan themed works of art!

The designs on these above shirts lean a lot more in the direction of the Samurai with the faces more resembling masks also. The horns, the helmets and the colors are all on point.
They are stunning designs and perfect examples of Transformers turned Samurai!
Optimus Prime Samurai
This is another interesting blend of the Samurai helmet with a Transformers head design – this time being none other than Optimus Prime!
This clean picture is less detailed but really well drawn with a cool tweak on the proportions of Optimus Prime’s head design – which takes some real understanding of art to pull off – implying detail and depth within simplicity.
The artist behind this picture is Felipe Torres, whose art can be found on Behance and Deviant Art or by following on Twitter.
Super Ninja Samurai Drift
No we’re going for a more traditional Japanese Samurai Art look with this transformer.
This strong, bold picture which again follows the black white and red with a clean and crisp design is by Zibanitu6969 on Deviant Art.
This guy is a comic artist as good as they come, you go through and explore his work you’ll find all sorts of wicked imagery from amny things such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as well as Transformers.

Optimus Samurai
This Samurai Optimus Prime is an awesome looking piece of Transformers Artwork! The guys behind this pic are Dave Guertin & Greg Baldwin of CreatureBox.
They do a lot of really excellent work with fan art of not just Transformers but many other comic and superhero characters, and even sell their art through their online store here.
They definitely caught the balance of Transformers and Samurai in this pic though!

This is some more Samurai Transformers art I found on DeviantArt – this time by Indonesian Artist Yudhistira Fz.

These images were created by the talented Thomas “Teeg” Ketchen. The stylized nature makes them very outstanding and they carry that Samurai/Transformers theme perfectly, down to the designs created behind the heads.

Ancient Chinese Commanders
Finally, these ancient Chinese commander versions of Megatron and Optimus Prime bring the Kung Fu / Chinese look to their character design.
Created by Chinese artist Nkzhangwang, these are amazing takes on the Transformers.
